How to build a ramp, Step 6
Attach
the upright posts.
2"x4" sections, precut to 32" length, are attached along the sides of the ramp at 4' intervals, using at least three 3" screws in each.
Using a carpenter's square, we align each upright so it is perpendicular to the ramp surface. If the upright is located at the transition from flat to sloped surfaces, we usually position the upright perpendicular to the sloped side, as this allows a standard 8' 2"x4" to be used as the handrail on the sloped section.
